The book is strongly endorsed by Glenn Borchardt, Ph.D., director of the Progressive Science Institute and author of "The Scientific Worldview".
He states "I want to congratulate you on this excellent piece of work! I definitely like your critique of Hawking and Kaku. It puts these jokers in their place. A great job! You have done so much that is needed to expose the BS that goes for physics and cosmology today."
To get an idea of the contents, read these statements from the book
Physics and cosmology has been in a disastrous crisis for almost a century.
Mathematics is not physics, yet it is treated as such.
The fourth dimension exists only in mathematical equations, not in reality.
Time travel is nonsense created from mathematical equations, not reality.
String theory is not a science. It is a branch of mathematics.
Black holes do not exist, except in arcane mathematics.
Wormholes do not exist, except in arcane mathematics.
Space is not curved. Space is infinite.
There is no fundamental "God Particle" from which all matter is built.
All matter contains smaller matter,i.e., no object is solid.
Objects do not carry their own time. Time is infinite.
There was no beginning. There will be no end.
All matter is in continual motion.
Evolution is a property of matter because all matter is in continual change.
The theory of relativity is not science. It is mathematics.
$Billions of dollars are being wasted on "silly science".
Reality based physics = the study of three-dimensional matter in motion.
Good physics is the study of three-dimensional matter in motion. Good mathematics involves unlimited dimensions, from utilization of just one dimension, two dimensions, four dimensions or as many dimensions as can be imagined. This is bad physics, however. Matter has only three dimensions Length, Width & Height.
Physics has been in crisis for a century due to the intrusion of the field of mathematics. String Theory is the ultimate result of this nonsensical mathematical intrusion into physics.
Mike Gimbel is a Marxist and never expected to write such a book. It was only after discovering the nonsense that purports to be physics and cosmology, did Mike Gimbel decide that it was absolutely necessary to fight against this idealistic attack on causality. You will find this book both interesting and useful.
Dialectical Materialism vs "The New Physics" Mike Gimbel
Reading this book is both a joy, and relief to know I won't have to do all the research myself! The connection of physics to dialectical materialism is a natural one, that far too few Marxists or physicists have investigated.
Before finding this book, the best "materialist theory of physics" I found was the website milesmathis.com. Interestingly, Mathis came to the same materialist conclusions based solely on his pragmatic experience as a figure artist. Unfortunately, he never bothered to read Lenin or Trotsky on science, although most of his historical research is very thorough.
According to Mathis, the seeds of the downfall of theoretical science in the 20th century were planted in Newton's infinitesimal calculus. Mathis shares the view that time itself is not a "thing." Mathis would have benefitted from Lenin's "everything in the universe is just matter in motion" argument, but manages to cover many of the key points on his own: Time is an abstraction. When we discuss time in our everyday lives, we are always discussing "time intervals", not the concept of time. Newton, on the other hand, fails to make this distinction. He assumes that we can slice our measurements of time (and space) into infinitesimally small pieces. However, if our measurement of energy is quantized (as shown by Planck), then shouldn't our measurement of time be quantized also? "Reality is infinite. Measurement is finite" as Mathis puts it in his (quite thorough) demolition of Cantor's concept of infinity. (see milesmathis.com/cant.html)

Dialectical Materialism vs "The New Physics" Mike Gimbel Reviews
There are no black holes, space is not curved etc..! I guess the author resides with the Gods! What an absurd theology in the name of marxism!
I found the book interesting in showing that physics went astray early in the 20th century. Physics got lost in the wilderness of relatvity and the quagmire of quantum mechanics. Physics, and indeed science and knowledge, has been made too complicated and an expensive commodity to purchase, so that the students are subjugated and the professorrs are kept busy and well remunerated.
The theorist's need to be idealists,
and the experimentalist's need to be materialists.
I.E., Read if you are a "technical" person and
got frightened of math in high school and need
something that says "that's OK".
Well, I just finished this fascinating book! I have always been interested in science since watching Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" as a kid. I had always been intimidated about pursuing the interest or doing more than watching cable TV astronomy shows because I was always a lazy student about science and math.
All of which is prelude to saying that Mike Gimbel's book was compelling for me because he put it in such a powerful political context.
I hope there have been other responses from other readers. I hope others have also purchased the book. I just sent a note to some local libraries I patronize here in NE Ohio, asking them to purchase copies of your book.
As a long-time listener to the radio pseudo-science show "Coast to Coast AM" I was particularly pleased with Gimbel's merciless demolition of Michio Kaku, a long-time regular on that show.
This book is an example of the dialectical materialist science in action. It is extremely rewarding and I encourage all comrades to give it their time.
Gimbel seems to accept the unsupported opinions of non-physicists -- such as Lenin and Engels, who in turn derived their ideas from a Christian Mystic, Hegel, not known for his contributions to Physics -- above that of scientists like Einstein. Remarkable.
If you have any misgivings about modern physics I would suggest this book. This is not too say I agree completely with Mr. Gimbel, but he does pose a lot intriguing questions. The only drawback is his tendency for polemic. Still, a interesting read, even with all the ideology.
Reading this book is both a joy, and relief to know I won't have to do all the research myself!
